Say it like you mean it.

Kirkpatrick Group started as a hobby for Katie Regan in May 2008 under the brand Comma Girl. A company for her side hustles of writing, editing and coaching soccer. After she earned her M.B.A. in 2013, her side hustle gained momentum, and the opportunity for companies to engage contract communications support was growing. In 2017, Katie made the decision to run the business full time, and in 2018, she left corporate America. In 2022, Comma Girl rebranded as Kirkpatrick Group.

Why? Well, a hobby-turned-business deserves a proper name and identity.

From 2017-2021, the company expanded its diversified team across the Midwest and East Coast to include talented professionals who work 100% remotely. We grew our top line by 1,200%. We learned that our clients worry less when they work with us. We learned the value our team brings to the table, having been on the inside. We understand customers’ needs and the challenges they face. We “get it,” and we get it done.

Today as Kirkpatrick Group, we continue to provide excellence to our partners with integrated, strategic and tactical communications. While we have a new name, we still have the same expertise, integrity and passion to serve our valued customers.

New name. Same excellence.

When a hobby turns into a fast-growing business, that hobby-turned-business deserves a proper name and identity.

I wouldn’t give up my in-house experience at Fortune 500 companies. It taught me about the internal complexities of matrixed organizations, the financial constraints and microscopes the marketing and communications teams are under, as well as the necessary skills of influence and navigation.
